Spooky Season Art

Now that we're in spooky season, I thought it would be fun to share that I also do a bit of art. If you enjoy these, I may share more.

Sound Sample Saturday -- Chapter 3 of "Forever's Too Long"

Today we bring you the 3rd chapter in Rafael and Clara's ongoing adventure, which takes us to the streets of New York where we'll meet some of the friends Rafael has made during his days as a beat cop. I hope you enjoy this little stroll through 1940's New York City.

CHAPTER THREE - THE ELLIS ISLAND TRAFFIC CONTROL BOARD

Sorry for the shortness of today's offering but I'm certain you'll enjoy next week's longer offering where we get to meet yet another face from Rafael's past. Mind you, this one won't be quite so friendly.

What's coming up

Seems like I haven't posted here in Forever.

Seriously, sorry for the long absence. I'd rather work on my fiction than the blog in general, when time is limited, and I think we all found last year pretty stressful, and stress isn't great for the creative juices. Allan and I both have multiple conditions that make changes for the worse dangerous. I hope you've all weathered the pandemic all right yourselves. My sympathies for any losses you've had-- health, loved ones, finances. No one's pain is lessened by someone else having it worse, so it's okay to share your burdens.

But enough about what's been going on. You want to know what is happening with the books. Forever Festive will definitely by out in November, and I'm only waiting that long because I think that Christmas books are most enjoyable at Christmas time. You'll get to meet Rafael's family, find out a bit about the magic community in Buffalo, New York, and best of all, spend more time with Clara. At least, Rafael thinks that's the best part. There's also a guardian angel with a missing ward, who brings the mystery to Rafael Jones. (photo by Ralph Skirr, courtesy of Unsplash)

As for the anthology, Forever W.I.T.C.H Hunting, that will be out after Forever Festive, probably around this time next year. The good news is, I have four stories already finished and will release at least one more here for you to enjoy in advance. More good news: Rafael, Clara, Sir Lynn, Flannery, Eugene, and Medium Brown will all be represented if I get all the stories finished. Clara is slated for three stories, and Sir Lynn is pretty much involved throughout in some way, since he manages the group. The first story starts before Britain is officially at war, and the last one comes just after Forever Festive. There will also be new faces, one of which will be an important part of Forever Chosen... the next novel coming after Forever Festive. Oh, and the new people include-- a cryptologist, a telekinetic, a demonologist, a witch, a healer, and a few who can't be summed up that easily. :)

Forever Chosen will bring back the vampires you love to hate.

Any questions?

"Forever In Deep" Is Now Available In Audio Form

"Forever In Deep" the 5-star rated third installment of the Forever Detective Series has joined its siblings on Audible, Itunes, and Amazon. This makes the entire series to date available in audio form, with more books coming, starting with "Forever Festive" which will be released this November.

Allan Krummenacker has once again brought his vocal talents to the forefront to bring Rafael Jones and his friends Medium Brown, Flannery and a host of a new characters to life for you in this 3rd adventure of our favorite vampire detective.

This tale takes Rafael to upstate New York, accompanied by Medium Brown, to look into a series of mysterious drownings that have been taking place in Saratoga Springs. The clues they find lead them to the racetrack where they find another familiar face, who also finds the drownings intriguing and troubling.  But who or what is behind the killings?

Perhaps this little snippet will give you all a hint:

And to all a good night

Well, as you know, I had to change my goal from having Forever Festive out before Christmas this year to next year, and gave you a Christmas short story, Krampus Lesson instead. That's one of a few that will appear in an anthology around mid 2021, so long as I can stay on track. We've also had to bump back the audiobook for Forever Haunted until early 2021. The talented Allan Krummenacker has nearly finished editing it, but Audible's approval process can take weeks.

I'd like to thank everyone for reading (or listening to) my works. It takes months, minimum, to finish writing a novel, and the thing that makes it worthwhile is the belief it will be giving others great enjoyment. Every reader is appreciated, and anything you do to make more people aware of the series by linking others to the short story, writing reviews, or donating a book to a library, is very special.

Stay safe this holiday season, but have a happy one. Much love to you all,

Helen Krummenacker
